RENZ can provide an "experience of a lifetime" for young people working with horses.

The three main destinations are the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia.

United States
Trainees must be aged between 19 and 34 years, and have worked with horses for at least two years. The different types of placement available are:

- English - Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, Eventing, Riding School.

- Western - Reining, Pleasure/Halter, Cutting.

- Breeding - Mares/foals, Stallion, Yearling Preparation.

- Racing - Track Rider, Jockey, Stable Hand

- Trotting Horses.

Placements vary betwen three months and one year. Hosts are required to provide a good learning opportunity for the trainee, and to pay fair compensation for the hours worked. They must pay a minimum of $US600 per month plus room and board.

United Kingdom
The English riding disciplines feature in placements available in the U.K. We work in conjunction with International Exchange Program, a company with a good reputation for providing an enjoyable exchange experience for trainees.

Australia
As there is no visa requirement for New Zealanders travelling to Australia, we work with Stablemate Australia on more of a staff agency basis than an exchange programme. Job lists are available on a monthly basis.

If you would like to apply for an equine exchange, please send an email to vicky@ruralexchange.co.nz
