| The RENZ experience is obtained by living, working and travelling within New Zealand. The programme is open to people aged between 18 and 30, (21 and 35 for winery), and is generally available for periods from 4 to 12 months. Most placements are six months and designed to coincide with the busiest time on the farm, e.g. harvest.
Trainees can choose from the following categories: Agriculture Dairy - Beef - Sheep - Pigs - Field crops and Machinery - Mixed Farming Horticulture Fruit - Vegetables - Landscaping - Cut Flowers - Plant Nursery Agri-Home Working in the home and around the farm These placements are generally for periods from six months to one year. Dairy placements commence mid July-August; Other livestock, cropping and horticulture placements commence in the August-October period. RENZ is sometimes able to accommodate trainees wishing to commence a work placement at a time other than these particular dates. Oenology - Wine Winery placements coincide with the New Zealand grape harvest, which commences around February - April. Equine Placements can be throughout the year, on various properties from eventing yards to stud farms to racing stables. |
